The younger me would never have thought that I would be doing what I'm doing at this very moment in my life. Growing up everything was about college but I ended leaving school because it just wasn't for me. College didn't allow me to be myself and I feel like it restricted me to what I could do, where I could travel and even some jobs I could possibly have. So I made a life-changing decision to leave college. Now I'm chasing my dreams and trying to make my brand represent me to the fullest and start networking, but the only struggle is where do I start. I'm walking into a new territory blind-folded and just trying to find my way. I think I am slowly finding out what I need to do and finding a track to follow. I have set short term and long term goals for myself, which I should probably write down, so I can have something that I am actually working for. I'm trying to surround myself with more people that are creative so that they can assist me and helping my creative juices to flow. I have a lot of things that I trying to do in the near future and I just hope that everyone is ready for what I'm getting ready to launch!!!

NYFW: A Time To Remember
Hello to all my Slayers! If you didn't know already I am attending New York Fashion Week and I am current sitting in a Starbucks on W 34th St charging my phone and it just dawned on me that I have yet to blog my experience yet. So in the mist of all this craziness I'm attempting lol. So first let me just say that this has truly been an experience for me! I have seen so many different shows and presentations and just being able to be around creative minds everyday is really helping me get out of my creative funk. I actually got to see Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner which was amazing! I attempted to go to the Alexander Wang show but never got in sadly. I did attend a few shows, go ahead to my Youtube channel to check it out www.youtube.com/c/slaywithzay, and it feels so crazy to actually be there and not just looking at the show on Youtube. But other than that I just used this time to relax and get to know the city on a more fashionable side this time around and who knows I may be there living sooner than you think.
NYFW 2017
2017 has definlty been an eventful year for me. I have hit rock bottom and come back up and things are really starting to come around for the better. So my roommate and I are attending NYFW September 2017 and I'm ecstatic! Like this is something I have dreamed about for years! Not only as a lover of fashion but a photographer I want to go and see the dope ass outfits and take some amazing pictures, but I also want to be able to put on things that I can't normally wear in raggedy North Carolina lmao! So as I'm writing this outfits have been put together and things have been bought. I will do a post on my outfits every day while I'm there and up do a cute OOTD so you all, especially my bigger guys, can get into my looks and maybe find some pieces you have been searching for. Oh and I'm thinking about starting an online store don't wanna go to in depth but yeah gimme some feedback on that thought and maybe that will be happening in the near future.
The Slay With Zay Collection
Ever since I was little I have always been in love with fashion and just putting pieces together and making amzing looks. I havce always dreamed about doing this for a living but just never had the courage too. I have been making outfits on Polyvore for some years now but doing actually hadnt happened since this recent shoot. The one thing that I have always wanted to do is to be a stylist. I feel that it just goes hand in hand with my photography and videos. I have styled several videos for my Youtube channel but ever for a photoshoot. So i rounded up some of my friends and went through their closets or went shopping with them and styled each look for this shoot. This the first but definitely not last time that I will be styling and hopefully i can venture out to other people and use my skills to help everyone look AMAZING. The looks are down below. Enjoy!
Trying Something New
As most may already notice I am not a blogger, lol. I have tried it before but i never really posted on my site so I ended up deleting it. But with this site I want to do updates every so often of it being a regular blog its going to be like a journal. Im going to give deeper details on some shoots and videos and also write post on when I travel and do things that I feel are interesting and "blog worthy". So hopefully someone enjoys this.
The Process; Is It Worth It?
Let me start by saying without my friends this would not be happening right now. My family helps as well but my friends are who I can be creative with and really just be myself, I'm sure people will understand what I mean. Being able to be surrounded by people that allow me to be in touch with my creative side is what I really needed in order to get this site, my channel and my photography really rolling. At some point in my life, before college and some of my freshman year in college, I felt as if I was wasting my time trying to be creative and really become an artist. Everyone is picking up a camera and yell "I'm a photographer" or "book me" like seriously the craft that I love and live for is being slaughtered by people who have no passion for the camera or fashion. I had to really just sit and talk with myself and friends to understand that I am here to show what my craft is. Everyone is going to be different and just because everyone is taking pictures doesn't mean that my photography is one of a kind. After understanding this I just started doing everything I could to be my best. Learning Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Permire by myself and then reaching out while in college and taking Digital Photography for a year. I really just wanted to perfect my craft and find my niche. So in saying all this I just want whoever is reading this, even if your an or artist or not, that you can do it and even with all the downs you may face it is truly worth it.
